She was above feeling threatened anymore. Almost above feeling offended, even. Her approach wasn't born of any need to prove hierarchy, nor to send a message. She wasn't even hungry. Did she even see the other dragon as a rival?

No. It was something deeper. Perhaps a primordial instinct- a need to maintain territory. For wasn't avarice not within a dragon's nature?

Or perhaps, simply, it was an efficient way of silencing this creature's irritating chittering. The squawking it was making- demands of respect and subjugation- were most likely akin to the scraping of cutlery on a plate, and the noise simply needed to be smothered.

As the engorged unit of draconian gluttony waddled away from the scene, the onlookers were simply left there to gawk and guess.
