These are so hard to watch, still. Yet I do. LOL. Because it's great to see where they came from. You're right, it's not a traumatic experience that I.N. experienced. Having both been more or less in those shoes in my theatrical years as well as having experienced trauma I had extensive therapy for, I do see the difference. I don't really like how rough this is on young teenagers, but I see I.N. now and hear him talk about how he grew from experiences like this (and Kingdom). I admire how he was able to use criticism to just step up, learn more and grow. I agreed with you and JYP on cutting I.N. from the vocal team. He really wasn't ready to battle yet. And that's okay. I felt bad for him, but I loved watching the others cheer him up, reminding him he had the killing part in the dance, and joking with him. I could see it helping. I found it the hardest to watch Chan being cut from 3Racha. That felt wrong on so many levels. And would have hurt him much more than he let on. On the other hand, I could see where JYP was coming from. Because Chan was spreading himself thin. Your bit of a lecture on healthy sleep patterns was so correct! And Chan was already working nights to work on the tracks. He was on the vocal team (and we learned minutes afterwards that he also had to do I.N.'s part) and the dance team. He was working on all the tracks. Something had to give. But it hurt. And it was wrong. And if you haven't heard Matryoshka you should. You heard a part of it here, but not the way it's supposed to be. Because Chan needs to be there.

You're right... 3Racha without Chan is just weird... (so are dance missions without Lee Know) but can't lie, I think his rap has 1) improved massively since and 2) suits other songs better (e.g. Heyday). I loved the 'battle' with YG, tbh, every time they've done it over the years, it's just all good fun - I hope they do it again some day. The YG trainees were a bit haphazardly put together for the battle, but Yedam, Jihoon and Doyoung (the youngest) all debuted in Treasure through the YG Treasure Box survival show. Not sure if you've reacted to Treasure before or if you're looking for a new group to listen to, but I definitely recommend, esp. their big live performances (e.g. MAMA, Golden Disk). Can't wait for this year's year-end shows. Also, not sure if you've heard about them yet or if you've reacted, but Babymonster who are an upcoming girl group from YG had something like a survival show on YT 'Last Evaluation'. It gave good insight into the monthly missions they do as trainees at the company... and if you wanted to hear some good singing from trainees - they're definitely your girls. I'm excited for their debut later this year. On another note, so with you on the sleeping and finding time to relax, etc... I've also been concerned for Chan, mostly cause I saw myself in a lot of his overworking and undersleeping.. after 4.5 years doing this and working non-stop, I'm now forced to take a break from work and everything because the brain and the body just don't function no more, lol. We live and we learn, I guess.
