This one took forever to finish but here it is! I love these guys, they're so positive and supportive of one another...I just really wish MNET was better about their editing and forced drama. I'm really excited to see them continue to grow as artists!

I was sooo looking forward to your reaction to the dance battles...did not disappoint!

Jay

Lol I suggest doing 1.5x or 2x speed on elimination episodes cuz their so hard to get through

Shishka

Ahh, thanks for uploading! I have a feeling WoongKi (the dancing queen) will be your favourite from now on haha. I think the "pranks" that they pulled on trainees were probably the lowest part of the show (apart from elimination eps taking 4 business days lol). Girlies were mad online after this aired, both for CA and bodyshaming, luckily it was a "one off" for this show at least. You just wait for the saga starting from next episode with shipping Hanbin haha. I actually can't wait for you to get to ep 6-7 and forward. I agree with the suggestion to do 1.5x speed on elims. They draggin this like insane. For finale ESPECIALLY, 1x speed for performances/variety videos/speeches of chosen ones, and 1.5x/2x for waiting. I voted from the start of the show! Got really invested into the show because of contestants and their chemistry. There is actually a lot of behind the scenes videos that are really wholesome, but I don't want to link them to you yet as they will spoil some stuff I think. Also I'm sure your schedule must be packed with reactions haha. Without any spoiling, the group formed from this show will be debuting in beginning of july (about a month from now) - do you think you will be done with show?

psynergic

That's good to know... I'll try to record ahead a bit then so that I'm done by then. Though, releasing them will likely still remain weekly. At least I'll be able to watch them debut!

Jade

yup i agree with 1.5x or 2x speed on elimination episodes.. they are so terrible long jeeezzz!

Shishka

Awesome to hear! I hope you'll keep enjoying the show and will hopefully enjoy the debut group as well :D

During the entrance, you asked who was the little man (with Doha), it was Osuke, the leader of HOT SAUCE G-GROUP who was hidden by his team everytime they were surrounding him The clip you saw of the girl calling Yeo Jingoo ugly was from GIRLS PLANET 999. She is Chinese and actually wanted to say he was handsome but ended up using the wrong word so it became a funny clip and Yeo Jingoo was teasing her everytime he could do it 😂 Talking about GIRLS PLANET, I'm not sure if I would recommend it? I can't because I don't remember perfectly. They were good auditions and some good performances but I personnally got less attached to the girls? However I like GIRLS PLANET system better. It wasn't a Koreans VS Global trainees things but you had a cell system at the start. In one cell, you had 1 Japanese/1 Chinese/1Koreans and when you were voting you had to vote for cells and you also had individual votes, it felt more mixed at least especially for the first mission. Also, I already said it in one my comment I think but since it was pandemic, there was no public so the winning teams were decided by the masters, which I liked better. (more neutral) However, it's MNET so there are still evil editing especially on Chinese contestants, a lot of them spoke out about it actually at the end and all the behinds. One of them talked about being forced by the program to say harsh word to another contestant (when in reality they were in good term), or they also talked about the audition, some couldn't choose what they wanted to do for the auditions, it was given to them (which happened in BP too). Some also said that the Koreans staff treated the Chinese trainees differently. You aksed about translators, from what some contestants said, there are translators for this part, sometime they ask people like Haruto who speak several language to help them. However, MNET doesn't allow translators during the mission part (it's easier to create miscommunation and so drama) The result are based on voting + benefice. To have 50% and 50%, they inflate the koreans votes since it's one country vs severals others (I could be wrong, I suck at Statistics but normally I think it was like that) However, as much as MNET want people to vote one time, you know how it's work, people go find others solutions or take the phones from their families to vote on the app so the numbers of votes get big easily You asked about people voting for Daeul, Doha, Mingyu or Takuto. Actually, I saw a lot of people get upset at seeing them so high, Daeul got a lot of hate if I remember correctly. I don't remember the first voting but I think it was during the first episode? So mostly people based their votes on PR VIDEOS (if they watched, I didn't) + fancam from HERE I AM + Episode 1. I personnally voted for people I knew from past survivals show (like some others people did) or because they were/are idols I knew. I think my vote was : Seungwan / Wumuti (both from the survival show UNDER NINETEEN, both were idols at some points) adding Sungmin/Woongki (who were ex-TO1, participed in ROAD TO KINGDOM, the show before KINGDOM LEGENDARY WAR), also had Hwanhee/Dongyeol (UP10TION), Keita (CIIPHER), Haruto (did the survival LOUD also show in EP 1) + Kuan Jui (mostly because he impressed me in EP 1) I don't know why people voted Daeul, I think at first his fancam got viral on twitter I think because his dance skill wasn't good but he was cute if i'm not wrong? Some started voting for him just for laugh and giggle without thinking about the others contestants. He didn't fell that much but you can already see here that people already start stopping voting for him after some episodes. For the others, as much as they aren't good, I think people who might have voted for them loved their hardwork also they weren't that bad on the past performance at least Doha and Mingyu. Takuto have something in addition which is also the cuteness. Still a lot of people ended up upset with the results because some goods trainees were eliminated (lost some of my favorites like Yugeng, Xuanhao, Yutaka really liked Osuke/Yuto/Haru etc) You saying Happy Pride Month when Seowon and Woongki danced to HYPE BOYS 😂 Actually Woongki himself on live also said Happy Pride Month, he has been actively supportive and even before told a fan that he don't love them if they hated the lgbt community. You will love both of them, they are the iconic duo of BOYS PLANET. Woongki is also the one that you loved when he danced, he isnt afraid to be sassy and extra. The one you said looked like one of your good friend, his name is Jiho, he is from the same group as Seowon which is NINE.i (another member of NINE.i is Winnie, with orange hair in LOVE ME RIGHT G-GROUP, both Jiho and him got eliminated). Also Jiho brother is on PEAK TIME in TEAM 9:00 [they did BEATBOX by NCT on the audition and ON by BTS in R1], he is the one with the long hair. It's sad he was the only one who didn't survive from AJU NICE TEAM. Dongyeol went to Hwanhee because they are from the same group UP10TION, I don't think he skipped someone or I didn't see 😂 DANCE BATTLE PART : Just to let you hate MNET even more, they cut one dance battle which was Haruto VS Sung Hanbin, they did a waacking battle but MNET cut it and they didn't air it. Haruto did multiples dip during the battle, he said maybe that's why it wasn't aired. Most people are forever mad at MNET for cutting it including me Also they got me mad because they finally gave Haru (the blond one for G-GROUP who battle against Mingyu) screentime after knowing they can because he was eliminated. Some others participants end up having the same fate in the next elimination and that's so annoying when you know they hide some contestants on purpose 😭 Mother Wumuti lost one of his child The K VS G match again during the battle made a lot of people sigh, it's the fact at the end, it's again the Global group that lose, it's end up getting weird. Still, I'm glad the boys are so supporting of each others, I'm glad Yujin invited the G-GROUP. The two BURN IT UP teams getting eliminated hurt because both were really good. In both team I had trainees who did caught my eyes. In the K-GROUP, I loved Minseok (who was a great leader) and Hojin who was great in the vocal departement (fun fact : Taebeen from TEAM 15:00 in PEAK TIME seem to be his vocal trainer, he also train Seunghwan and Ichan). G-GROUP really got me because I loved Xuanhao, Hyo and Yutaka. It suck because Hyo and Yutaka are two Japanese trainees who literally got little to no screentime, they should have performed SHINE in the audition as 6 members but due to reason (MNET didn't reveal anything abt it), the team ended up with 3 members only and they didnt get to perform so MNET just basically put them in the 0 stars. They really got dust when they were good in the practice video posted on Youtube. They might have get saved if only they didn't end up in the episode around the end of the voting. It's also something I don't find fair, often you have the mission, half performance are in one episode and the other half the following week which is just before the end of the voting (i think it was broadcasted every thursday, so with my timezone I voted the afternoon and after the Friday morning it was the end) The problem with that is : the people showed in the first half had more chance of making it if MNET were giving them screentime or at least highlighted them a bit, because people might end up adding them if they really catched their eyes meanwhile people who were show in the other half didn't get this chance since there was little time. The whole K-GROUP from HOT SAUCE being able to made it was crazy. Park Hanbin really did well by leading this team. Hyunbeen is one example of the benefice, honestly for trainees who are at the bottom it can be helpfull SECOND SEGMENT : I think this is what you were thinking. I think someone warned about it in one of the comment section in another episode, about the cultural appropriation. When it was diffused live, my timeline twitter went cold, nobody was laughing at all. Also the second part that didn't sit right with me is the "prank" done to Hyunbeen, if i'm right it's bodyshaming, it doesn't seem like he was comfortable and making him try something he doesn't seem to want is a no, also he is a minor. It's a shame they did and put this when I'm sure they were several behind the scene who might have been way more interesting and fun to watch for us About BACK DOOR Team, it's so funny how you caught Kamden habit of tilting his head. He does that so often and we have no idea why, I think at some point you will see but he get teased about it 😂 (He also get compared to Pou ) I totally understand the Love and hate relationship, I have it too. The boys are all amazings but MNET often suck. Talking more seriously about the G VS K GROUP, it's end here but the thing is, this concept wasn't good and keeping it for the first mission even more because honestly G-GROUP were seriously disavantaged (felt like MNET knew it and kept it on purpose or i'm reading too much into it), they were disavantaged especially with the language barrier + their training who might be different. We will not mention the screentime otherwise it might take forever. Everything adding up, didn't help them for the elimination MNET promoted it as "global" but honestly it's feel like it's more because they wanted to draw interest, I don't think MNET will ever intend to make a "global group" at the end of the day, it will be 2 or 3 members max if you are really lucky. You were talking about watching GIRLS PLANET, I don't remember how good it was but otherwise I heard good thing about the Chinese survival called CHUANG 2021 (where Hiroto and Ichika took part), I didn't watch it but it seem like a lot of people liked it. It was also highlighted as global and from what I heard during the audition, the contestants could even do songs in the language they wanted. That could be something, also it might be interesting to see the difference between a chinese survival show and a korean one

Personally I actually think there is merit to the benefit system, since it's also based on audience voting from the live event. Otherwise, because of the way episodes are aired, doing really well in the final performance doesn't really help the trainees who were shown in the second part of those episodes because they were aired 1 day before the end of the *3 week* voting period (voting was allowed once per day) so it basically had no effect. That is really not fair either. Even for the performances in the first half, 2/3 of the voting period was already over. So I feel like the benefit system puts more value on the performances. But that's just my 2 cents. Btw, there were two kinds of benefit, 100,000 for the winning team of each match-up and 10,000 for all teams from K because they all together got more points than G groups (that one is a bit meh but also 10,000 points isn't all that much). So all members of Korean teams (besides Kill This Love) got 110,000 additional points, Kill This Love K got 10,000 and Kill This Love G got 100,000. Ricky's neck is taped because he has a tattoo there (it's the word rolemodel). Real tattoos generally aren't allowed on Korean broadcasting (though they sometimes slip trough) so they are either taped, covered by the outfit or blurred afterwards.

I think you're 100% right about Mnet making up drama to offset how sweet these boys are. They are all so kind and supportive (and downright affectionate) with each other; I imagine the editors were getting a lot of bizarre requests to search the footage for any drama to use. I hate the voting thing, but it was basically Mnet throwing a fit because viewers caught them rigging points in favor of who they picked beforehand on another competition show.

Samira

I mean mnet sucks yes but the benefit system makes sense... its all still from audience voting so depending on how hard the guys work it makes sense that they would get a benefit from it. Also technically you don't have to watch the placement episodes since the group already debuted and it was more made for people who were voting at the time so

I still can remember how they showed the first training who survived and then they ended the live . For Benefits: 100K Points for the Team that won. +10K Points for K Group cause the won the most points. Points are not equal Votes. 1 Korean votes was like 6 points 1 Int Vote was like 1 Point. Every day on this Stage of voting we could vote 9 people. Also the voting app wasnt foolproof at this point and people could vote multiple times if they cloned their divice. Names: I really only learned all the names after this episode. Oh yes and the next era of boys planet is gay planet.

Rach

The benefit system does make a bit of sense to me. It's a leg up for doing well which most survival shows will implement. It's also a decent way of kind of offsetting what you were saying about the main popularity vote. I won't name names so not to spoil you of course, but there were quite a few instances of trainees not being voted for because they were deemed "ugly" or what have you, and so whether they could preform well or not, they would get less votes. The benefit helps lessen that effect on pure skill and talent. There's also the fact that Mnet would split performances so weirdly and some teams would get a week of voting that the other teams wouldn't get. For example, the Love Me Right teams. G group was shown completely separately from K group who wasn't shown until the following week, ergo, a whole week where some of those K group trainees wouldn't have been voted for since we as the audience had no performance to judge off of. In the end the benefit that K group got may have actually made it a bit more fair. Also what you were wondering about the tape on Ricky's neck, it's to cover his tattoo from the cameras. South Korea has a somewhat skewed view on how tattoos reflect a persons character. You'll find some other trainees do similar things, for instance you'll often see Jongwoo with only one sleeve rolled up because he has a rather large one on the underside of his forearm. Edit: As for your confusion about the math for the top 9 and 52nd place not equaling 11 lmao, they have candidates for 9th place, and if you're not 9th then you're 10th, therefore that 11th spot you weren't comprehending ahahah

Beppeli

Ricky has a tattoo (it says "Rolemodel")on his neck, that's why he has to tape it for broadcasting. I think in concerts it's ok to show them. FYI: - Your favorite Sung Hanbin has two tattoos (one on the inside of his right biceps and one under his throat) - Jiwoong has a tattoo on his upper left ankle - Matthew has "H.M.C." on his inner right biceps and a backpiece on his left shoulder (but no clue what it looks like) - Jong woo has a half sleeve on his left forearm (hence why he's always wearing long sleeves)

Survival shows will never be fair, some people will always make it due to being popular over others who are arguably more talented. That being said I don't think the benefit system is a bad thing because after all, it is a benefit they fought for and received fair and square. This is a survival show so there will always be winners and losers and the winners will receive something, that's the incentive. Moreover, seeing as MNET doesn't give many trainees screentime, the performances and the benefits are the only opportunities for some of them to survive and get more popular. That being said I think the voting for the first mission always goes terribly because it's almost always a popularity contest and rarely about the actual performance. I think it's better in the next missions where there are fewer trainees so people can focus on them and actually get to know them.. Also congrats on getting freed from K vs G hell. I really couldn't wait for that to happen.

They should've included some more fun and nice clips instead of than dumbass prank... I swear to got the majority of the people in the korean society are so uneducated x_x Kamden, Jay and Matthew had the exact same reaction as yours. They didn't laugh and was just staring like... are they being fking serious

Htet Kross

Can’t wait for you to go through the same rollercoaster I did with Mattbin (Matthew and Hanbin) 😂

Caroline Costley

The tape Ricky wears on his neck is because of his tattoo btw

Anonymous

mnet never showed us the battle between haruto and sunghanbin but they both did waacking and according to haruto here (https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSL6Y79ng/) he dipped 10 times 😭 i will never forgive mnet for hiding this from us 😔

Ashura

"The enemy is Mnet" : pretty much what everyone says whenever watching one of their shows.

Kuran Yuki

Since you asked for the tape on Ricky's neck, I went to check all the boys tattoos, and then I wondered what the H.M.C tattoo for Matthew means.  One of the first result was "Hight Maintenace Chick", and I was WTH ?!  But it means (according to his sister) "Howl's Moving Castle" in honor of their mom because it's her favorite movie, which makes a lot more sense lol, but it made me laugh, so I had to share it with you haha ^^
