Technically, for earthbound Felids and Canids, yes. Lagomorph/Feline hybrids,like the Basitin, not sure. On the stream Tom addressed this by stating they aren't related to their namesake species, but are simply named after the species they look like.

Part of why chocolate is poisonous to irl cats and dogs, is an issue of weight and how much slower they metabolize the problem component.

I'm sorry, I have a desire to ruin this. Remember the Indiana Jones films? “Bad Dates.”. Don't worry, Maddie is a tough little cookie. As a Basitin, she's immune to a variety of poisons.
