I’m happy raine is able to accept herself when her parents wouldn’t

Anonymous

The eternal battle between child and parents.

IvyReed

I like how Mary looks a little bit guilty but Euchre, true to form, is completely glowering/disappointed. He's such a jerk.

Cha11engerD

You tell ‘em, Raine.

Anonymous

Whoa things suddenly got Real Heavy.

Anonymous

The hardest choices are to go in against your parents wishes and expectations, and finding out who you really are And I am certainly speaking of experience here

Anonymous

Really gets you thinking how some have pretty fucked up childhoods

Anonymous

Mary looks like she's at least understanding of what she's done, while Euchre looks pissed that his daughter is talking back at him.

Ebin Shumate

I love to see Raine coming to terms with what she is, it makes her all the more real of a character, her struggle with the very nature of her existence finally coming to an end, and in doing so finally being able to accept herself and be proud of what she is

ThirdKind

The eyes are the best part of this. Mary is crestfallen and saddened while Euchre is angry, annoyed and a slight twinge of guilt shows at the corner of his eyes.

Shadow

I still want to see this play out in the story.

The Sexy Beast

The poor wolf girl is so upset, she can't control her transformation. <br> She's certainly come a long way from the Thanksgiving dinner picture.

Mari Mcgee

She is letting it all out on them!

Wolf guy

She finally acceptes the truth

Anonymous

I want the story arc

Anonymous

Damn. Go Raine.

deffinitelynobody

I like the sparks of magic, really nice touch

DiDiDi-X

I'm so happy that Raine finally let out everything on her parents. And accept herself.

Torbjörn Larsson

Sniff! I'm so rightly proud of Raine now ... and also oddly turned on. / "Red who? He doesn't even have a name!"

Went Brown

Wow......... Well said.

CrimsonQuill086

...This is beautifully done. Thank you so much Tom...I love what's been written too. Raine finally learning that who she is is not wrong, and her parents not accepting it...I also like how it shows that despite her prejudices, Mary has more conscience than Euchre. Euchre is haughty, as though he is outraged that his daughter dare accuse HIM of all people of mistakes...although I do see a twinge of guilt (another comment pointed it out), but Mary...she looks sorrowful, ashamed, remorseful, as though the full weight of what she has done to her daughter is dawning upon her. And it is good to see Raine finally let it out...I hope something like this happens in the comic. There is only so much that she can take...and it all has to come out some time.

CrimsonQuill086

The eyes say so much...With both of them, it's as though they're just realising the magnitude of what they've done...

Isekai'd

Oh my god, I'm so happy that Raine states she is not only accepting but also proud of BOTH of her sides. She surely has come a long way. Way to go, girl!

Dragon86

Damn straight, you should be proud of yourself! !

Anonymous

I need their reaction to this...

Roughlandin

Your worth is not measured in your parents' acceptance or approval. Your family is not just your blood. You are what you make yourself, what you build yourself, how you grow yourself. You are perfect exactly as you are. No-one has a right to make you feel otherwise. Tell 'em, Raine. Halfkind. Full-blooded. And proud.

Randy Healon

They need to be careful too, she's got a weird SSJ aura going there

CrimsonQuill086

Maybe that could be another suggestion... probably not mine though, as I want my next one to focus on another member of the cast, but it's an interesting idea...

ElderScrollsMekkan

You tell them, girl! These two deserve the humiliation for what they've done to you!

Anonymous

Wow... You could almost feel something just pulling at your strings watching this unfold. For Raine to confront her own parents the way she does here with all sorts of mixed feelings, particularly pride, pain, and rage. This is absolutely beautiful and harrowing, and that's why I love this moment right here.

Anonymous

Now we need one of her introducing Zen to her parents

Anonymous

Very much liking how this iteration of Raine appears to be a seamless blending of the two halves of her lineage, rather than a chimerical jigsaw of warring natures.

typo Adventure

Here's to hoping she gets a chance to work through these destructive relationships in the comics too.

Anonymous

She is a good girl and deserves the world

Anonymous

Agreed, I personally would want to give him a kick to the privates, since it seems he doesn’t care much about his own daughter.

Anonymous

I feel like this is a missed opportunity to have Rose in the background adding hype

Supahbuzzer

We failed you... we failed you as mother and father, we wish it would’ve been better. We should’ve never let you go out there with those wolves still on the loose. Look what it made you. Raine: No, it was you. YOU MADE ME THIS WAY!!!!!

CrimsonQuill086

That was kind of the idea when I suggested it...both sides in harmony, with her realising that there's nothing wrong with who she is! :)

Momo-chan

I feel like this should happen in the main story!! It’s a beautiful piece and the emotion it shows is amazing!!

Anonymous

Someone give her a hug

Bespin

The emotional aspect of this sketch puts it high in the rankings for me. We need more.

Anonymous

holy crap i hope this becomes a thing in the story, that would be awesome

Glenn Sellers

Raine isn't giving them a piece of her mind; she's giving them the whole bloody thing.

KaiserDunk

It would be interesting to have this happen as a plot point in the comic. At the very least, have a scene where Raine meets Euchre where he has no easy means to duck out before she has a chance to unload her emotions.

Muddypaws

Whoa ..,, that’s a sharp tongue Raine.

Anonymous

*slowclap*

Spartan277

You tell em GIRL!

SCD

Raine: Are any of you even listening to me? Euchre &amp; Mary: Quiet! We're trying to watch Wheel of Fortune! GO TO THE FRONT OF THE CAVE!!!! IT'S GO TO THE FRONT OF THE CLASS YOU MORON!!!! Raine: ……….

Joe

dang, that's heavy

Sons of Lorgar

And many of them don't realize how fucked over they have been until/unless they get friends with sound parents and starts noticing the differences.

Reseen Dalls

Sometimes I wonder about Nora and Euchre. How they were depicted as pretty nice at the beginning of the comic but recently got portrayed as far worse persons... Was it planned all along by Tom to reveal them as creeps under a veneer of decency or did he adapted his work to his readers' reactions after many expressed how antipathetic they actually looked like to them?

Şaaruuk

And given all the arcs of magic flashing around her, Raine is seriously pissed off...as well she should be.

Warren Lewis

This needs to actually happen. This needs to be canon.

Quite Possibly a Sombrero

Ah euchre. Everyone's least favorte narcissist. Amazing card game tho, reminds me of michigan.

Anonymous

Mary looks appropriately ashamed but Euchre just looks pissed, like "how dare this whelp talk to me in such manner!"

markoatonc

That... that needs to happen in the comic... we REALLY need a proper reunion there... I kinda would suspect her parents to immediatly start arguing and attacking each other. Eventually ending on arguing over Raine... and then she comes out, does some magical blink in between of them out of pure emotions and yells at them both... at least thats what I would ecpect frok what we know of them so far... but really. IT HAS TO HAPPEN!! PLEASE!!!

Anonymous

tom you NEEEED to make this canon.

Caleb H.

well we know what her nightmares are like :/

Tempestfury

Strange how people look at Eurche, and say he looks angry at Raine, indignant at how she speaks to him... but, that's not his facial expression at all? Mary looks guility, as she should, realizing what she had done. But Eurche, Eurche looks resigned. Knowing Raine is right already. Knowing that he could have done more, and already accepting her frustration, knowing its justified. Seriously, how do people look at this, and think Eurche is angry?

Joe

slanted eyebrows are seen as angry. the subtleties of facial expressions are usually lost when in image and not vision

H7sam

I con't Waite to see it in the comic

Thistle Fox

Euchre’s expression seems to say to me “I knew this was coming, but I’m still not looking forward to it.” And really, he had it coming. They both did.
