We sat down to talk about 9.1.5 and our plans for it. We ended up talking for almost an hour and a half about World of Warcraft. Again.

We start on 9.1.5, but eventually branch into some other topics: no artifacts in the Mage Tower, Legion Timewalking, Shadowlands design vs Legion, Covenant swapping.... and a weird misunderstood part of Mythic raiding.

This one's mostly unedited due to time constraints - but I hope you enjoy nonetheless!

I did not engage with WoW since March-April. Quite a chunk of time. Cognitive load - that is the term. It perfectly summarizes my feelings from the game. You have your 9 to 5 job with "reasonable" bedtime. You don't want to play dead brain game, but engaging game, but not that "engaging" to need spreadsheet for it. It gets from relaxing to tiring. Also the open-world aspect was one of my first complains about FF and others MMOs. I remember when I first time engaged with ESO and there was loading between zones, that lay next to each other - similar to FF. I was quite surprised by the time, because WoW was the standard in my head for MMOs. But I played a teeny tiny bit of ESO when it came out, maybe rest of the game now looks different. Another example is SWTOR, but it feels different, because you travel between planets - so there is kinda cutscene and it don't feel that "unrealistic". You jump on your ship and off you go, it's not just loading screen.
