More hints inside of this episode that will arise again in the future, not quite the same way as those of the first episode. You'll learn soon about the show that it is a lot of exposition and attention to details, which those details always come back up later...a great storytelling trait here which allows us, the viewer, to get even more in touch with our own feelings. These details, they also make for great discussion for reactors as the show goes on when you notice the reveals. Also, interesting that you've already decided to start discussing Frieren's age...that will come up later where you'll learn a range for how old Frieren actually is. Remember in the first episode when Frieren said she wishes she had gotten to know Himmel better before he was gone? She said that she was going off on a journey to learn more about humans and to get to know humans better...Fern doesn't know about this. So Frieren is on a journey of discovery and to her, she needs to take her time with humans in order to get to know them...she's not in any rush to get things done because it allows her to take the time to learn about people. Fern is looking at things from a pragmatic approach, she wants to help people but she views things from the macro perspective and overlooks the micro. With Fern, she would have them go in and get the job done quickly then move along...Frieren has had more time to learn about CONNECTIONS and so she takes the time to develop them, meanwhile Fern was disconnected from the world after suffering the effects of war so she is literally like a young Frieren that doesn't innerstand human connections just yet.

Interesting point on fern , we were talking after about how frierens disconnect with time will affect her relationship with Fern. She wants to take time to do things but for a human taking time to look for the flower might have been one week max. I do sympathize alot with fern though. She is so powerful and is hunting flowers for 6 months....lol. We took notice of the boy in the intro on editing and we were joking about how if he is a love interest for fern or something frieren will be like "QUICK , MAKE A MOVE AND TALK ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS YOU DONT LIVE LONG!!"
