Wow. An actually enjoyable episode that DIDN'T kill and bury my heart. Nice.

In fact, some very satisfying things happened. I'm going to revel in this moment for as loooooong as I can because I know Code Geass won't go gentle into that good night. Tears, pain, and suffering loom on the horizon, BUT I WILL ENJOY THE MOMENT!

Suzaku's new life decisions were...a thing. There was confusion between me and the bro as to whether he was being sarcastic or fully honest with comments from the Nina scene up to Schnizel's. What do you think?

The narration has almost been exclusively done by C2. Then when she lost her memories, Lelouch took over the narration. But in this episode notice Suzaku is the new narrator.

I don't think Suzaku was being sarcastic when he spoke to Nina. I think it would be more apt to say he was being insincere. Everything he said was true, he just wasn't expressing his true feelings about it. Later on, with Schnizel, I believe he was being sincere, but it didn't sound like him because his values have suddenly changed. I think the reason Lelouch has never used his Geass this way before is because he considered it too heinous to justify. Mind controlling someone to be your obedient slave for the rest of their life is objectively evil. You're taking away someone's free will permanently. I would say he did it this episode because he now views himself as a demon and is willing to act like one if he can take his father to Hell with him. "I'll kill as many people as I have to, as long as you are one of them." type beat.

its def a sharp change in suzaku, but i can believe it because of his crazy laughing last episode. Man has snapped. and yeah i guess before lelouch could brush off things he did as necessary evils but this is just evil. He has nothing left now though and only has hatred

The monologues? Didn't notice that , i suppose suzaku is now the most enigmatic one of the group right now.
