OHMAHGAH. Just when you thought things couldn't get anymore complicated, all this happens. So now we know a little bit more about Beatrice's story, and we also got some insight into Roswaal's too.

Man, there's so much we could theorize. We captured a bit of our extra conversation in the After Talk for this episode, but we'll probably be wanting to talk more about it in the discord next week. But for this episode, what do you think Roswaal meant by becoming "more like me"? Do you agree with our theory? Or do you have another?

In the end of S1E11 Roswaal states this: "I must win this battle for the throne, no matter what it takes. For the sake of my goal. For the coming day when I kill the dragon..." And well, he actually needed to fight Puck to be able to speak with Emilia, as we learned in Memory Snow, presumably to hook her at being a dragon priestess for the country - so yes, that would be quite the high cost or risk, especially lacking RBD-powers at the time~ This also gets me to wonder whether he uses the book as a tool to achieve his goal, or if he strictly follows the book and doing so is the same as his goal in some way. In other word: does he use the book or is he used by the book himself?

he is so locked in on this goal one has to assume he knows the book will give him what he wants. so im willing to wager he stricly follows the book because he knows it will come true for whatever reason.
