The fight with the whale was so good! I love all the details they included in this episode. It really emphasizes how formidable this Whale Mabeast is as an enemy. And now there are more. Yikes.

Although I'm really hoping Subaru and the gang make it out of this one, things aren't looking too hopeful. I mean, was this a baby white whale we were fighting like Rose suggested or...? Cuz man! What do you think?

Thanks for another awesome reaction! I think you all were pretty spot on with your interpretation of the last Wilhelm flashback scene. My explanation of the scene (Without spoilers): Wilhelm was quoted speaking about his wife (Theresa) in episode 19, "She never wished to wield a sword, but the sword loved her more than anyone. With no choice but to live for the sword, my wife accepted her fate. When I married her, I took it from her, forcing her to abandon the title of 'Master Swordsman.' But the sword would not allow her to do that." In this episode (episode 20) during the flashback, Wilhelm stated that he wields a sword because that's "All he has." Theresa was blessed being the Master Swordsman (AKA: Sword Saint) of that era, but never wanted the title and wasn't interested in the art of the sword, although it was her duty to wield it. Wilhelm, who worked hard to master the art of the sword, didn't take kindly to Theresa being uninterested in her title. He was embarrassed someone not interested in the sword needed to save him. He then vowed to take the sword away from her, while telling her about the beauty of the sword. However, the reason he wanted to take the sword from her was to free her from the duty she didn't want, though the sword wouldn't allow it. He did it as an act of love. I hope this explains a bit. They will dive deeper into their story in Arc V (Season 3). This is all I can say without spoilers. Looking forward to the next reactions!

thanks for the in depth explanation! i ended up looking up other explanations and came to a similar conclusion. I can see how it would hurt to see someone so effortlessly surpass you when you are born with nothing and have to try all your might only to fail to someone who doesn't even care for the skill.
