POLL: Choose the Next EPL (Patreon)

Hi y'all,

I've selected five classic albums from our Master List as options for our next Extended Play Lounge. Choose your favorite!

Of course, I've heard some of Pet Sounds...but not all. And I don't think I know much from any of the other four. 

The poll will run through Thursday June 1.

Yeah, this is definitely one of the hardest to choose. I think that Doug would like some of the folk-rock groups such as Fairport Convention, Incredible String Band, and Pentangle. However, I voted for more Moodies. . .

Voted for the Moodies because it's the beloved soundtrack of my teenage years! But I'll be happy hearing Camel if they win. From what I know about them and have heard (not a lot), I enjoy their music very much. Needless to say, you'll have to get to ALL of these SOME day! :-)

I believe Dr. Doug intends to do the Magnificent Seven in chronological order. TOCCC will be the next after Threshold.

I love Fairport Convention's Liege and Lief (and saw it performed live with 5/6 of the original band), so I voted for that. Looks like it is trailing the poll results so far. If another album wins, I hope it is Pet Sounds.

Camel is a terrific band. Everything they did is excellent. Even "I can see your house from here", which is the most pop album has Ice which is a 10 mins piece. If you have not listened to Mirage is absolutely fantastic and so are Raindances and Dust and Dreams. Andy Latimer is a seriously underrated guitarist. Unfortunately not too much is available for digital purchase.

I think Blow by Blow was the most impactful album (maybe Pet Sounds too?). If BbB doesn’t win, i hope The Snow Goose does. I’m fairly new here, but my sense is that Doug is not enthusiastic about all-instrumental albums. Is that at all accurate?

Just seeing Fairport Convention in the poll makes me smile. They probably won't win but raising awareness of this amazing band is a great step forward!

I'd love to have Doug do my childhood favorite road trip album, Wakeman's Journey to the Center of the Earth. I still listen to it in the car when I need to feel epic.
