Thank you for your interest in this new video series. This poll will help us narrow down the finalists to determine which songs will be included in the Fan Favorites video at the end of the month.

This month, we received 53 song suggestions on the topic of Relationship Songs. There are 18 songs that made the cut to make it to this poll. I took Maybe I'm Amazed (McCartney) out of the running because it was included in a Daily Doug video this week. 17 songs remain.

You can vote for up to 6 songs that you would love to see included in the upcoming video.

The top 9 vote-getting songs will make it into the video.

This poll is starting on Thursday, February 17. It will run through Monday, February 21.

Happy voting!

Chose my six, but was surprised to see Billy Joel's "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" Which I think is one of Billy's best-kept secret hits.. It's a fast vocal, has lots of lyrics, and tells a great love story.. so that would be cool.. but, of course, had to select the prog-masters instead. ;)

Love Reign O'ere should only come at the end of a Quadrophenia EPL. Great song capping off a great album. I also love how very loosely a few of these can be called a relationship song. "Cinema Show" is hilarious (and should be part of an EPL of selling England by the pound)

Ron Swirson

absolutely correct on both counts

C'mon folks, Richard Thompson's Beeswing surely deserves to be heard by Doctor Doug.

Is there a summit button?

I guess the video probably won't feature the whole 9 songs (the episode could end up easily over 2h, not that we wouldn't like it, but it would be a lot of work). I do hope however that from the 9, the top voted one will get a full treatment. Cutting just an excerpt out of The Cinema Show would be a shame

Please don't stop Trilogy between parts one and two. You'll miss a treat.

I'd like to put in a word for Richard Thompson and Beeswing. It's heartbreakingly beautiful.

I suggest another channel for the Dream Theatre fan club

Valentyne Suite from Colosseum would be a nice addition concerning the theme :)

The Cinema Show has maybe the best synth solo of all time.

Matt Leppard

That’s why the lads dust it off for their celebrates old medley. Be nice if they changed it up every now and then. It’s wonderful song of course. From Steve’s acoustic intro to the pun-heavy reprise. A prog masterpiece:
