Congratulations to Transatlantic for winning the first round poll. The results were:

Transatlantic - 35%
Marillion - 24%
Haken - 18%
Spock's Beard - 14%
Big Big Train - 9%

For this round, please vote for the Transatlantic extended play that you'd like to hear! We'll run this round of voting through Friday the 29th.

Oh...and I think I was able to fix the setting that was allowing multiple votes per person. Happy voting!

If The Whirlwind wins the poll, please do the studio version Doug. The live DVD is okay, but I don't think the sound on it do the album justice. I think the studio version is some of their finest work, both artistic and the production! 😊🙏

Happy to be a Patreon supporter right now. I am torn between Stranger in Your Soul and The Whirlwind. Both are exceptional. For an extended play I am going with The Whirlwind and hoping we can get Stranger sometime in the future for a long boi Friday YT upload. As Eirik stated, I am also rooting for the studio version.

Well, it seems like All of the Above won't be picked. That's a bummer, since I feel like it's pretty close to a great album top to bottom, and I haven't like any of the subsequent albums quite as much. Hopefully Doug will get to SMPT:e at some point. Great stuff.

Super stoked for the Whirlwind! One of my all time favorites. I was probably going to pick it even if the whole Bridge Across Forever album was up for discussion but it would have been close, that one is amazing as well.

Jeremy Taylor

Yes, studio album is best.

Garance A Drosehn

I'd be happy to hear the studio version of "The Whirlwind".

Why is The Whirlwind the only full album option?

Nathan Buege

Was hoping for at least Duel with the Devil / Stranger in your Soul combo. Whirlwind it is!

Gary Thobaben

Those two songs are thematically linked as well, that would have been a no brainer pick for me!

I'm surprised everyone commenting is rooting for the studio version of The Whirlwind. It's good, don't get me wrong, but it's rather sterile compared to the live video, which is fizzing with energy. It was watching that performance that finally sold me on Transatlantic.

Illume Eltanin

Any of these will be a first listen for me, so I'll abstain and trust the community on this one.

Lars

He should have added All of the Above again at the bottom of the list.

Ken Slater

The Whirlwind has maybe replaced Tarkus as my all time favourite album. I have collected 1000+ prog albums and seen 1000+ concerts since 1969, I don't say this lightly!

Philip Briddon

Just voted for The Whirlwind but I actually feel a bit guilty about doing so. 80 minutes of music mostly previously unheard. This is brain melting stuff.

To be honest, the Whirlwind is the only real extended play on this list for me, as the rest of the songs are worthy of their own fridays :) I would also vote for the live version from London.

Nathan Buege

Tough call between studio version or live video, but I'd lean video. Such electric performances. Especially Daniel.

Fred Hill Jr

Sorry to say I’ve never heard of any of these groups.

Old Rocker

I agree 100%. I heard the live version before I heard the studio version. On the first listen I was a bit disappointed that the studio version did not have the energy that the live one had. Still very good, but the live version gets my vote.

Arttu Uimonen

I have no idea where I'm getting myself into, but I saw something the Whirlwind and could not to vote is.,. the live vesrion is awesome. Think about this - the backup player is freaking lead singer of pain of salvation...

Jeannine Doyle

Not too high on these groups, of course, I am a Queen fanatic, so I’m recommending, the black side of Queen11
