I'd love to see you sitting at the keyboard for this one

I think you'll find some of Rick's progressions interesting

My hear is breaking. Just 30 votes for Atom Heart Mother. 💔 🤣

John Sawyer

Me as well. I certainly think it is the most interesting musically. Still I am interested what Doug has to say.

Would be great to see that but not really surprising, I bet 75% of Floyd “fans” have never even heard it…

Andy Ambrose

Gutted for AHM....but delighted that DSOTM didn't win...

Really glad animals won

I believe the patrons made a good choice here. In my opinion Animals is the apex of Floyds progressive period (I would say from around the time of Atom Heart Mother). Speaking of "AHM" , I hear the folks that would have liked this one and I think its an outstanding record, but I just don't think thirteen minutes of "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" would hold the interest of the audience here for very long. I think a better scenario for "AHM" would be side one on a Friday edition!

Hi James. I can live with side one on a friday with a beverage 🥃

Rhesus Perplexus

Ah yes Goran, I did forget the beverage! Thanks!

Never really considered Pink Floyd a Progressive Rock Band. They're blues based rather than based on European music. They certainly are 'Proggy', but not progressive like ELP, Yes, Genesis, King Crimson and others.

B Mac

Surprised 'Meddle' isn't a choice.

Mike D

Meddle was in the original poll, but was removed in favor of AHM - I’d guess at least in part b/c he did much of the album already when he heard Echoes. I must say though, I’d love to hear his take on the rest of the album at some point

B Mac

Agreed! especially if he can make out the message at the end of the first track on side one. :-)

have always seen Pink Floyd as a psychedelic blues band and not prog, although it is a bit difficult to define what is prog and what is not

ATM would be the better one to discuss specially as it was put together with composer Ron Geesin, who does not get credit for it as he deserves. In some ways, he helped make their music more interesting, which was important in the land of the top everything!

The post about ATM is now on the tube ... how does one get to the "discussion" of that piece? Would like to add a few things ... but the website is not up to date on it that I can see. Plz advise
