My patrons get exclusive access to this unlisted video in the #TheDailyDoug series. This video was initially blocked, then allowed to go public for a few weeks. Then, it was blocked again worldwide. So, here's the special link to the unlisted video for Episode 75. (This is a standard definition backup of the original file.)

(This is a re-post with the video now hosted on Vimeo. The original post with the file residing on my google drive created issues for our international patrons.)

Cheers!

The link doesn't work for me, same with the king crimson :(

This should work now (I hope). I had a privacy setting issue. I learn something new everyday. (The link needs to be private but also allow embedding.) Let me know if there are more issues.

"The Creepiness. I haven't figured it all out yet. I'm still trying to figure out what they are showing us. It's a little strange" Says all Tool fans. Also, Schism from the same album is probably their most popular song and equally as disturbing, cool and reflective on life all at the same time.

I just don't get why people love this band. If you turned of the distortion there wouldn't be much else there.

Steven Biggs

I get it but I still feel similar. I think of Tool as the modern version of AC/DC, an overrated band whose music sounds the same. I took each song from Tool's latest one and played them where each song ends at the same time. In other words, every song from the same album played at once and it worked. The singing sounded like a separate language but the rest worked. An album shouldn't flow THAT much.

Glenn Wo

yes it all sounds the same, and it reminds me too much of grunge music which I hate with a burning passion. "Grunge prog" I usually denote them by.

Not their best

Thanks for the reaction! This was the song that introduced me to how great tool is. In a time where fresh heavy music was mostly accompanied by guttural screams (not my thing usually) , tool seems to be the best of two worlds I love.

Dave Vick

I don't think there is a "best" Tool piece. Not in the classic sense of the word "best," at any rate.
