Here's the reference recording of our All Tier Hangout from this past Saturday. It was a great discussion with some wide-ranging prog sprinkled in throughout.

For those in the lower tiers, this experience is available at the Council of Dougs or Doug's Angels Tiers. We gather about every three weeks on Saturdays. We also gather about every three weeks on Sundays for a more music-focused hangout called Doug on Demand. I hope you'll consider joining us at these tier levels!

Thanks, as always, for your support!

Thanks for playing it Doug, and thanks to you all for listening. There's actually a few shares of that song on Youtube, some with a lot more plays, plus live versions etc. Man are well known over here to an audience from that era. 11 mins was too long? Well, it was a live studio session for the radio, but live at a gig I've known it last 18 minutes and go even weirder! Not all their songs are long though - there are a few short ones! Vocals on that were from the late, great, Deke Leonard (one of the two guitarists) who I chatted to not long before he died when he played his last ever festival show (I believe) at an event I was booking bands for. The other guitarist was Micky Jones - I know his son George, and George's band Son Of Man (clever, eh?) are playing as main support at this year's NVRF on the Saturday. I'll have to put "Bananas" forward I think. Opening lyrics "I like to eat bananas, cos they got no bones. I like marijuana, cos it gets me stoned". No one else quite writes lyrics like that! I'll keep submitting some UK bands that you'll find interesting - there are so, so many! Still never had Curved Air, Colosseum, Arthur Brown (though on the list!), Groundhogs, Mostly Autumn, Grace, etc or newer bands like Square Wild, Ebb, Kinky Wizzards etc.

Thanks Trevor...if I was thinking, I would have saved it for when you were with us. But, it was on my list to do and pulled up, so I went with it. Thanks for your suggestion...it was a first time listen to Man for several of us!

As it happens I was back in time for I think the last 15-20 minutes on that Saturday, but forgot (mind you, Man were before that). I'll watch the rest later - you tried out Meer too, which I'm guessing was also interesting!
