Oma, I’ll miss you forever. I’m so lucky to have known you.

The strongest woman who has ever lived; survived having her homes bombed multiple times in Berlin during the war, raising 4 kids on her own in a country where she barely spoke the language, and so much more. 95 years of kicking ass. Legendary. You’ll never be forgotten.

Oma was my wife’s mom’s mom, but she took me on as family from the moment she met me. I’m so thankful to have had her in my life. Raise a beer or some schnapps in her honor (or a rum and coke, a late-in-life favorite of hers). PROST! Hail Oma!

I'm so sorry for your family's loss Ben. My grandmother also recently passed at 98, after growing up in the Depression, losing her husband almost 30 years ago, living with diabetes and beating both breast cancer AND Covid. All of this adversity and she still never had an unkind word to say to anyone. If I had a tenth of the strength these women possessed, I'd think I was invincible!
