Hey y’all! Happy Monday!

I’ve got a fun watch just for you all, and I need your help!

So last week I found my first band’s first cd, way back from 2003! I want to share it with you all and talk about all 6 tracks in a Riff Retrospective, but I wanna do it the best way possible for y’all! So I set up yesterday and recorded this as kind of a test run. It’s only about the first song on the album. It’s a trip down memory lane! Really fun listening to what I sounded like when I had been playing for like a year and a half, and all the goofy choices we made as a young band.

Ok, help me out by checking it out and answering these questions:

1: the recording setup is very different than usual. Still ok? Mainly concerned about the audio mix and guitar tones. Anything need to come up or down? Final video, I’ll probably use a different amp, something more mid-forward than my Rec.

2: I’ve got a couple different formats I could do to talk about the songs. What’s the best option?

A: a quick skim of all 6 songs, only talking about the high points

B: make 6 in depth videos like this one, really going deep on how and why we wrote the tunes

C: just a mega huge hour long deep dive over all 6 songs in one video

D: split the difference. Film option C just for Patreon, hack it down to option A for my main feed.

Let me know what you think! I want to make this as fun as possible, but I realize I run the risk of just sniffing my own farts talking about tunes that only matter to myself and my former band mates. You all are my most loyal and lovely watchers, so I wanna know what YOU want to see!

Cheers, everyone, this is gonna be fun!

1) I love the amp, everything was balanced in the audio. I appreciate hearing someone who knows what they’re doing use an amp in the videos so I can fix my tone at rehearsals. 2) Option C because you can still chop up the big video for your instagriddle I’ve learned a ton from your YouTube channel but the day I heard you say “YingYang Millshake” and “Instagriddle” I subscribed to your Patreon 😂

That's the first song you ever wrote? Impressive!
