Sorry- newbie question… what key would this be in? Edit - I think c# minor?

Well, it's A Lydian ( A B C# D# E F# G# A ), which you could think of as the E Major scale but focusing on the 4th note. Or the C# minor scale but focusing on the 6th note..... or if you wanna get absolutely wacky you could say it's an F# dorian with the focus on the 3rd note hahah..... 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, 3x2 of the next. Music is goofy.

I can't believe the difference starting on an upstroke makes with this kind of stuff. This isn't the only riff I've noticed that it does this. Just makes a massive difference in how clean it all comes out. I'm sittin' here like, "WHY!?!?"
