Lovely and Loyal Patron Aaron sent me a message requesting this pre-patreon Tab, but why just share with one person when i can make lot of folks happy with this legendary (and frequently mis-played) riff?!?! Made a fresh TAB using my Remarkable just for you all, be sure to snag that and follow along.

And i already know somebody out there wants me to transcribe this solo, hahaha.... i think thats just impossible, honestly, its SO random and all over the place! I've played MANY shows alongside Living Color on rock cruise gigs, and Vernon never even plays it the same way twice. He's also a super cool guy, we've had some good long chats about horror flicks.

Anyway, enjoy!!! And please let me know what other pre-patreon tabs you'd like to have!!!

Cult of Personality, the REAL way! Weekend Wankshop lesson 155

www.facebook.com/unclebeneller twitter/instagram @BenEllerGuitars Skype lessons? email BenEllerGuitars@gmail.com Hey kids! On Weekend Wankshop 155, Uncle Ben here is gonna give you all a sweet free lesson on how to play the main riffs from Cult Of Personality by Living Color! I see lessons and transcriptions all the time on how to play Vernon Reid's guitar parts in this song, and i'm afraid to report that they're mostly fake news.... there's no open strings used in this riff at all, and there are some really awkward positions and fingerings that you've got to use because of that. There's a brief lesson Vernon did a while back floating around on Youtube where he gives a quick rundown on how to play the main runs of the song, but i wanted to give you guys something a little more in depth . hopefully this will help you nail this classic tune! Playing my Fallout finish Ibanez RG550 with Instrumental Pickups into my Kemper Profiler. Thanks for watching, be sure to like and subscribe!

I've played the beginning riff both ways including open G and open B strings. I don't think you can tell the difference audibly but it's easier for me. Otherwise I do a lot of pinky finger stretching, my hand gets tired, and my timing starts to suck.
