Expanding your minor pentatonic playing by using the minor hexatonic scale is flippin' cool. We've heard Joe Bonamassa, Eric Johnson, and Francis Bubbletrousers all do it for years. But when you add in some wide interval tapping action onto it, ala Joel Hoekstra or Guthrie Govan, it just gets cooler and cooler! ICE COLD! This easy-to-see pattern is one i came up with. It uses string skipping across 3 strings to create a really space age, wild sound. Its much easier to add into your vocabulary than you'd think! In this video, i'll show you the pattern, the lick, and also all the muting and fretting techniques you'll need to play this thing super clean without the need for a fret wrap/hair tie around the neck!
