Today, i'm exploring a question asked by one of my lovely and loyal Patron who asked about techniques i learned incorrectly and had to re-learn the correct way, and it brought back a memory of the original way i learned how to do pinch harmonics. Its a pretty impractical and weird upstroke technique that i've never seen ANYONE else do, but man alive does it ever produce the CRAZIEST high pitched harmonics i have ever heard! These would make Zakk Wylde blush! See if you can get this weird trick to work and let me know when you start squealing like a pig on that guitar! So that's Satch's secret, I could never figure out if he was getting the harmonic thru pick attack or some other Joe magic device! I tried to replicate with zero success, will give this a try! Another seemingly simple, but for me difficult harmonic, is from Killswitch Engage's "My Curse" during the main riff when he hits that G on the upper E string, good grief I've tried. Similar to Zakk Wylde on Ozzy's "No More Tears"...I'm guessing it's as much to do with the right amount of high gain and where on the string (with the picking hand) it's actually struck. I'll keep trying! Cheers
