Hey Uncle Ben. Isn't this like following the Modes up and down the neck? Like going down the Cmajor (3NP) and coming back up the D Dorian? I'm confused lol. but then again I"M ALWAYS CONFUSED ha. Thanks

Modes/scales just end up being some pattern of frets up from the root. 0,2,4,5,7,9,11 for major. Because 7 frets up (the fifth note in the major and minor scales) on one string is the same as one string over and 2 frets up (except for on the B string), and 12 frets up (the first octave of the root) is the same as two strings over and 2 frets up, etc., you can play the same scale different ways, getting different tone. Amin happens to be the minor scale pattern (0,2,3,5,7,8,10) that you get when you play the notes in the Cmaj scale starting on the 6th note in Cmaj (which is A).
