Hey guys!!! Here's the Patreon-only followup to WW264. In this video, i'm going to be showing you all how i attach this style of arpeggio with a combination of sweep and hybrid picking. I notice i tend to automatically slip into this style after the BMP gets a little too hard to handle with crosspicking, but not not so high that i want to sweep it for maximum speed. I guess in order of dominance, i go:

low to mid tempo: crosspicking

mid to high tempo: swybrid

high to stupid tempo: sweeps

Enjoy and let me know if you like playing arpeggios this way!

Patreon Exclusive! WW 264.5, hybrid sweep tips

hey lovely Patrons!!!! Thank you all so much for the support and for Kasper's suggestion to break down the arpeggios in Man on the Silver Mountain! In this special bonus video, i'm going to show you all the OTHER approach i take when tackling high speed arpeggios; its a combo of sweeping and hybrid picking that i fell into by accident years ago. I think its similar to Marshall Harrison's "swybrid" picking technique. Try it out and see what you think!

Hey Uncle Ben! How about a video about all of your gear? Give you a chance to show off what you use. Whatcha think?

Hey Ben! Since a whole week meanwhile, I practice every day (of course again!), after having paused for THREE MONTHS because of lacking motivation. And a very great way to get back to it, was to go from your oldest to your newest videos here on Patreon. I have improved even further than before this long break. So thank you! But what I actually wanted to comment on this video here, is, that this picking sequence is so damn unnatural to me, that I'm asking myself in general, how "economy" this economy picking actually is. Just in this moment I'm experiencing way more need for brain power to execute these really particular series of movements, than "just" play it alternate picked. Physically harder, but you don't really have to think. Despite of practicing the right way and identifying weak spots etc. of course! But otherwise, you actually have more headroom than with economy picking. What are your thoughts on that? Not talking about the hybrid picking though. Got that. Cheers with a good ol' German Pilsener, man! ;)

Oh... I just realized, that you are talking about this exact topic further along the video.... :DDD But I'll leave the comment anyway. ;)
