🧃 This movie takes me back (Im telling my age). I went to High School in Harlem and I remember when they filmed the school scenes in this movie at my old High School. DJ battles aren't the same since they moved away from vinyl. I admit using laptops allow for cleaner sound, but I missed the old days. Tupac received a lot of accolades for this role. It was this point that folks realized that he could be a real actor. The Director Ernest Dickerson was a Spike Lee Protege and also received acclaim for his direction on this movie. This was his directing debut, as he was Spike's Cinematographer for many years prior (Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, Jungle Fever) 🧃
