🦒🦒 wow two shout outs in one episode! I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say thank you we feel special. :) lol. I don’t think Joel was right in doing what he did. Ellie had literally just expressed a desire to see things through and he kind of took a big dump on that. Yes, she didn’t know she’d die but she clearly felt the cure was worth her life - considering she didn’t immediately turn back after leaving Boston, knowing what was out there. I agree that the real solution should have been let’s wake her up and ask her. That said I understood why he did what he did despite it being for mostly selfish reasons. He didn’t need to kill Marlene. Yeah she’d have come after them probably but I feel like by the time she figured out where they were Ellie would have been a full adult and she’d have spoken to her woman to woman. Killing Marlene, Ellie’s only connection to her mom, and then lying to Ellie’s face without a thought made Joel the villain of the story in my book. Ellie temporarily accepting his lie just made it all the more tragic how far Joel fell.

Yeah the whole thing is complicated and very human, honestly. And like we said, if the fireflies had maybe talked to them both and explained what was going to happen, perhaps Joel wouldn't have killed everyone. Like if they actually gave Ellie that choice cause at the end of the day they didn't. They took the choice away just as much as he did. And it ends up biting everyone in the ass lol -E
