I got a kick out of your reaction to the movie and am happy you plan to give the series a shot. A lot of people hated on it for supposedly being too “woke,” but the inclusivity and making the story centered on women made it more believable. A lot of people also learned some historical facts about race they didn’t know from the series. Regina King won an Emmy while Jean Smart was nominated, and both were well deserved. It’s the best thing I’ve seen Louis Gossett Jr. appear in in a minute. Without spoilers, when you watch the series you need to be aware that the horrific attack that united humanity was different in the movie from the way it was done in the original comic. The series reverts back to that canon and relies on it for the story arc. In any case, I really hope you decide to watch all nine episodes, as I think you’ll enjoy them, and I know I’d enjoy revisiting them with you.
