2023-07-24 14:19:09 Great reaction ladies. This movie was so weird in all the best ways. First time watching some of the threads didn't click for me but I was thoroughly entertained - the characters are excellent, the cinematography is phenomenal, and Jordan once again directs the hell out of it. This movie has two of the most unsettling scenes I've ever seen - Gordy's incident, and inside Jean Jacket's mouth. Second and third rewatch made me realize I didn't give this movie enough credit. Once the themes and plot threads clicked, I realized it is truly another masterpiece by Jordan. I still hold Get Out in such high regard because that is one of the best screenplays ever put to film, that should honestly be studied in schools. But what I love is with every movie, Jordan is getting weirder and more abstract, creating films that leave you thinking. Get Out is still number one to me, a perfect film, but...I respect Nope more? - if that makes sense. It's refreshing and unique at a time when films can be a bit monotonous. Anywho Get Out -> Nope -> Us. And I agree he hasn't missed, I can't wait to see what he does next.
