There’s two seasons of the show and the ladies you’re probably thinking of show up in season 2. So I slime period pieces and watched this show on a whim. I now am a huge fan of it. I hope you continue with the series and I’m glad you both enjoyed it! The modern music played classically is a pretty cool reason to watch too. :)

Wow, what a pleasant surprise reaction. I love period pieces, particularly the insurgence of these period pieces with a modern twist that have come out in the last few years. They feel like wish fulfillment and fanfiction but in the best way possible. If you're interested in more, some good ones that have come out in recent years: Movies: The Favourite - scandalous! ridiculous! hilarious! Emma Stone and Rachel Weiss are incredible, and it’s directed so well. Little Women (2019) - of this entire list, this feels the most traditional, but it is incredibly acted and directed. It’s so beautiful, wholesome, and I love the way it presents women in all facets. Plus, Timothée Chalamet, and of course my girl Florence Pugh steals the movie…need I say more? Shows: Bridgerton - please continue this show and watch season 2. Dickinson - normally when you hear “so Gen-Z” it’s an insult, but I mean it as a compliment when I say this is a Gen-Z period piece. It’s so wacky, surreal, quite innocent, and genuinely heartfelt at times. Great LGBTQ representation and Hailee Steinfeld stars in it. There’s so many more, but I am truly loving this era of deconstructing period pieces.
