Ruby & Cecilia Ch7 costume sketches (Patreon)

OH I'd forgotten we never shared my original design sketch for Ruby! I wanted to keep her first appearance a secret until she was revealed in the comic. This was the reference drawing I had for Ruby and Cecilia's Chapter 7 appearances, plus the reference I put together for their outfits.

For Ruby, I wanted to give her a bit of a Farrah Fawcett outdoors-y look with an enormous mens buffalo-fur overcoat that she's somehow pulling off as Fashion.

For Cecilia, I wanted to give her something high-collared with an off-the shoulder sleeveless batwing silhouette, but for the life of me I couldn't find a dress that actually had all the features I wanted. So I wound up cobbling together a bunch of similar dresses haha. I think it came out okay! 

Seeing that they have some sort of ~unknown~ history, it was fun to design Ruby as a visual contrast to Cecila. I can't resist garbage wizard lives in the woods.
