I usually wind up consuming a bunch of audiobooks over the course of a year simply because it's a part of my workflow; I work better when a part of my brain is engaged. But this year I figured out how to rent audiobooks from the library (the Libby app!) and the number exploded???? I wound up listening to 42 audiobooks over the course of 2018, how did that happen

I do generally listen to mostly YA and romance because I have a rougher time getting work done while listening to something with denser language or more intricate plots haha. I'm probably biased, but romance books are great to work to.

Here's a list of everything I listened to that I personally rated at ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ stars or more; the ratings were kinda arbitrarily given based on how well I remembered the book when I made this list last week/whatever I was doing or feeling at the time.

Overall, the books I enjoyed the most from this year were probably The Broken Earth Trilogy by NK Jemisin (I read the first book last year), The Book of Dust by Phillip Pullman, Lock In by John Scalzi, and Carry on by Rainbow Rowell.

My favorite comics were Delicious in Dungeon by Ryoko Kui, Angel by Erica Sakurazawa, Sunburn by Roan, Mami by Diigii Daguna, and Snotgirl by Bryan Lee O'Malley and Leslie Hung.

I loved a lot of these! And immediately put 'Hot Head' on my to-read list haha.

so much overlap - now I know why I was waiting so long for books on Libby this year
