DOCTOR WHO: 2x1

Yaay it's good to see you back to Doctor Who. Billie Piper almost left the show when Eccleston left (remember this is her first major acting role, so Eccleston was somewhat of a mentor to her, and she wasn't sure she could do it without him). She agreed to stay, but she asked for an opportunity to something more comedic. And so this episode was born. The funny thing is, that her accent in this as Cassandra is actually closer to Billie's natural accent. Billie is from a reasonably wealthy part of the UK, with an upper middle class accent. Rose has a working class accent. Talking of which, CHAV is kind of the equivalent of someone from the ghetto's. Considered very lower class. It's Cassandra's snobbery showing when she says "oh I'm a chav." I think you did work it out, but this episode doesn't take place before the events of the season 1 episode. Cassandra was rebuilt from leftovers. The face of boe was in the same episode as Cassandra in season 1 too. Looking forward to the next one. PS I know the Charmed episode you are referring to, but I'm waaaay behind on watching your reactions.

That’s fun! Love that for Billie. that’s so interesting with the accents in different areas! And OH! I actually didn’t realize it was after. That makes so much sense now. Okay so this is in the future past the world ending. I’m editing right now and payed more attention to what the DR said. My bad! It’s all clicking now. Very interesting. So cool. Thank you SeeJay!! 💖👽

I appreciate you sticking to your convictions on the moral dilemma of Harriet Jones and Torchwood's actions. I didn't weigh in before. But I can see the nuance of the situation and the contrasting view points. I think, I might understand your perspective. Defence is a complicated argument. If we don't like an individual or group for their actions. It's acceptable to tarnish them with the same brush to justify our actions towards them all. For fear of what any of them inherently are or might do as part of that group is always a warranted justification for a collective slaughter. The human race has always been exceptional at that historically. A single Alien from an accient, far off, and long dead civilisation, has no right to play moral arbiter over us. 😉 On this one. Yeah, Billie gets a fun one she asked for. Not a top episode of this or any series for me; as collective whole. The bucket of combined medications transfered by touch, is a little too, meh, for me. The take away moment, is the narcissistic way in which Cassandra foretells the last moment she told herself that she was beautiful. Which turned out was right before she died in the arms of herself, as she lay in the body of someone else who worshiped her as much as she appeared to regard her own unique existence. As they die with her too. She clung to life so vehemently, brutalising herself into a shadow of what she was. Casting aspersions on those who she thought were less than her. Only to die practically alone, but comforted by who she used to be. That's a brutal head fuck.
