The Outside The Wilderness is a sanctuary for displaced Pokémon.

It is divided into three main areas: a home for the Yukon family and their team of Pokémon, a hut and field for Pokémon in need of relatively more supervision, and a farm for Pokémon that are relatively healthy and waiting for foster families or to be released back into the wild.

OTW is located in the south of the Galal region on the map, tucked away in the forested area between Postwick and Crown Tundra. The only access to the area is by road between the forests, and most of the travel is by car.

The purpose of OTW is twofold. One is to protect Pokémon that have nowhere else to belong, and the other is to hide Pokémon from the world that are not allowed to exist.

The circumstances of the Pokémon who arrive at OTW vary widely. Some have been removed from their roles due to injury or illness, some have been discarded by their trainers, and others whose very existence should not be known to the world.

Some have left OTW and found a new life, while others have nowhere else to live but in OTW.

OTW is managed by her mother, Ripspiz Yukon (plof.), and her sisters, Zoe (Zoisite) Yukon and Amber Yukon, for a total of three people.

Plof. has worked as a visiting professor at various academies, has knowledge in various fields such as biology, history and linguistics, and has many scholarly acquaintances. He is also powerful enough to do the heavy lifting, such as maintenance of the sanctuary and the transfer of protected Pokémon.

The sisters have been taking care of Pokémon since they were very young, so they have extensive ecological, medical, and behavioral knowledge about Pokémon. Leon, with whom they have a family relationship due to dairy farming, sees the amount of knowledge and sense they have and has invited them to participate in gym challenges many times. However, not being active in Pokémon battles, they had long refused (and he had them help take care of the Pokémon while they were at it).

They are physically strong, especially in fights, and are stronger than Pokémon. They use their bare hands and nearby objects as weapons in the manner of straight fighting, and they specialize in defeating their opponents without any means and without any mercy at all. The reason for this is that there are many Pokémon in OTW who cannot fight, so they needed to take the lead in protecting them, and they also needed to silence those who mock their activities and Pokémon.

Ability to hear the words of Pokémon

One of the characteristics of the Yukon family is that they can hear the words of Pokémon.

N has a similar ability, but he can communicate telepathically by communicating with his mind, and can even see through lies and psychological states. The Yukon family, on the other hand, can only hear words uttered in sound, the same principle as Koko in the movie. Also, they cannot understand the words of Pokémon with special languages.

Since Pokémon cannot speak just by listening to the language of Pokémon, the Pokémon side needs to understand the human language appropriately. For this reason, Pokémon in OTW have high language ability and many of them can read.
