Look back through any script they've released and rewatch the episode, they aren't lying. The improv works wonders because it still makes you laugh, that was one of the many things that made Robin Williams funny. Most of his scripts if you do research they will say Robin does his thing along with the lines he needs to say, as well I'm sure Ryan from Deadpool had a few parts like that as well.
