AnkouIn rare cases, shades can come to reside in the same location as ghosts. Eventually, the two specters merge on a spiritual level and an entirely new entity may be created. Should the ghost's mortal emotions and thoughts prevail over the shades' mindless hunger, an ankou is created.Unlike the ghost they were formed from, ankou are fully aware of their surroundings.
