Hi guys, I hope everyone had a great weekend.

In this next patch there will be a complete overhaul of the traits system:

Instead of choosing three negative traits and one positive, players can now choose as many as they want.
New traits can still be acquired through the Skill Tree, but most of them will be unlocked mid-run.

Here's how it's gonna work: Every trait, whether positive or negative will have a value assigned to it, impactful traits will have a higher value (3), while specific, niche traits will have a lower value (1~2).

When creating your hero, you can choose as many positive traits as you want, but you'll have to balance their values with negative traits, and thanks to the new unlocking system, the initial pool of choices is much bigger. You will be able to pick traits like "Uncontrollable Lust", "Bimbo Thoughts" and "Mother's Blessing"... As long as you have already experienced them in previous runs.

The coding in the random button has also been improved to accommodate these changes. By pressing random, the game will check how many positive traits have already been selected (or not) and will try to choose the remaining negative traits based on the minimum value needed to start the run. While still maintaining a certain element of randomness.
The player may start the run at a disadvantage if the initial pool of traits is too small, but the more traits unlocked, the better the effectiveness of the random button.

I won't spoil here, but there are some very strong combinations of positive traits. Try to mix and match new combinations and see for yourself which traits can complement each other.

On another topic, the Confusion debuff has been reworked (again), it is no longer influenced by Corruption and no longer stacks, the CON weight has also been increased considerably, along with the minimum reaction time. The Confusion debuff is now being categorized as a new minigame mechanic.

Each minigame will have an attribute attached to it, currently Confusion is related to CON, while the new debuff, Distracted, is related to INT. Think of these new minigames as an attribute check that also rely on the player's skill.

The new minigame, attached to the Distracted debuff, has been implemented: Players will have to memorize a sequence of numbers. The higher the hero's lust percentage, the longer the sequence. This difficulty can be balanced in the player's favor by increasing the INT stat, as stated above.
Nedless to say that getting the sequence wrong will lead to bad stuff.

Currently, the only enemy with this mechanic is the new Jungle boss, Isabel. However, other common enemies will have this mechanic implemented in their moveset, depending on how you guys receive it.

To go along with bringing these two new additions together, two new negative traits will be added, one will aggravate the Distracted state, another will aggravate Confusion.

These new traits will already be available in the initial pool this patch only. In the next patch they will be added to the Skill Tree.

Now for some quick updates:

Some of these changes are already present in 25/08 live version, but my intention is to update it with all these new elements one last time by tomorrow.

I'll have to tinker with persistent data again in the near future, probably for version 0.60. So keep in mind that you might need wipe all your progress soon.

Version 0.55 will be available to all patrons next Monday, September 4th.

Last but not least, if you have any suggestions for new traits, whether positive or negative, feel free to reply to this post or send me a DM. Maybe your suggestion can still be added in time for 0.55.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
Have a great week, and thank you so much for your support ❤❤

I have lots of ideas for new traits, but most of them probably aren't that good. Some ideas I have are: gain half exp as gold instead (and the other way around), discounted church prices, wake up later in the day, increase attack every 4 levels instead of 5, start with dagger recipe. Also, could a branch be added to the perk tree that benefits from this new system? I hope others are willing to throw out their ideas too because it feels like more traits means more variety in every run!

Half xp as gold is a good idea for builds when you have a lot of the skill tree nodes already unlocked! Maybe Midas Touch or something. (Some XP turns to gold)

Amazing changes! You actually deliver content and improve consistently, contrary to most Patreon content creators! :)
