This December "v1.0d" was updated to "v0.1e" and later to "v0.15". You guys didn't have access to version "v0.1e" until now.
"v0.1e" will be available to the public immediately, while "v0.15" will only be available to patrons.

Here are ALL the changes:

v0.1e:

ADDED A TUTORIAL

  • You can now complete the Hero Corruption tutorial, even if you already have a previous save
  • Choosing the Hero name: "tutorial" Will start the tutorial even if you have already completed it
  • Completing the tutorial grants the player a new achievement



ADDED A DIFFICULTY TOGGLE

  • You can now choose between Easy, Normal and Hard Mode
  • Easy mode disable achievements
  • This toggle will only be available for completely new saves, previous saves are set to "normal" difficulty


ADDED A "Clear All Data" BUTTON

  • You can wipe all your Data in the Options, doing so will enable the new difficulty and shemale toggle
  • You will lose ALL your progress in HC2 if you use this button
  • This is kind of experimental, so please let me know if you notice anything weird


OTHERS

  • Added 1 New Achievement
  • Added more diogaoo's tips

ADDED A NEW HUD AND UI

  • Hero Corruption has a new look, let me know your thoughts on this new appearance.
  • Some screens didn't receive the new treatment, which is the case of the Gallery, for example. I'm also not a fan of the shop screens yet, but I'll be improving their appearance over time


ADDED PERSONALITY TRAITS

  • Now you can give unique traits to your Hero before each run
  • Traits are permanent and cannot be removed in any way during a run
  • Your Hero can develop new traits involuntarily

Quite good, one small suggestion: what does stalker mean? remove chances of encountering random girl?

Every common enemy has a time of day when their spawn increases to a little over 50%, having the Stalker Trait causes their spawn to increase to 100%. Example: Explore the Forest at 10:00 am or 11:00 am and you'll have 50% chance of finding Laura and 50% of finding any other girl, but if you have the Stalker Trait, you will always find Laura at this time.

Love the new version and new enemies! A few questions: 1. Are there plans to implement more enemies that can lower your stats or grant negative traits that don't lead to a probable instant game over? It's a great mechanic, but it seems like it only ever happens during game overs so you don't get to play with the consequences. 2. Are there plans to implement more shemale enemies in HQ 2 with bad ends? Amazing enemy type hah. 3. Will there be quests added to HQ 2 like there are in HQ 1?

1) For sure ! The idea is that your Hero's personality will shape as days goes by. Right now I'm still playing with the balance of traits, but in the future it will be possible to have multiple traits and still get a good run. Generally speaking, Hero decay will be much slower than in HC1, for now there's little content to support this kind of gameplay, but removing the 15 day limit and adding Corruption and Addiction resistance sub-stats are a step on this new direction. 2) Yup ! Right now shemales are really lacking, I plan on paying more attention to them in the near future. 3) Quests will also be present in HC2. It was already in my plans to implement an Adventures Guild and a dedicated screen for quests. I would love to add this new mechanic right away, but HC2 needs a solid foundation with more enemies, areas and some other features that are still missing from HC1, so I'm taking it one step at a time

Thank you for the detailed response! I do like the removal of the 15 day limit. I unlocked all of the fame perks, and I have found that between stacking addiction resistance and using the chapel, you can keep really low addiction scores (if you put all your focus into that). That lets you have long playthroughs once you get the mechanics down which is nice.

That's weird... Does the game window open? Are there any error messages? Is version 0.1d still playable? Here are some things you can do to fix the problem: 1) Try both executables, 32 and 64 bits. 2) Delete the game folder, download the .zip again and unpack it on C:/ 3) Hold Shift right while double clicking the game's .exe and play with the init config, especially the Renderer. 4) Head to AppData>RenPy and create a backup of "HeroCorruption2-1648729160" with another name, delete the original folder and try again If all fails send me a DM, I have several backups of the game between v0.1d and v0.15, we can try to find out at what point the game stopped working on your computer and hopefully I'll get to fix it

So now that I have had more time playing this, everything feels so much more annoying to do. I feels almost pointless to try and beat enemies because it feels like you get less out of them every time you win and increasing stat costs mean even level ups feel pointless past some point. Addiction Resistance doesn't seem to be doing anything noticable and stamina regen is way too expensive until it finally pays off. Samantha's addiction checks are unbeatable out of the gate. Anal 0 roll anyone? If she depletes your HP its basically a guranteed game over Megan does 30 damage per hit and is probably harder to beat than the boss of her area, I dont know what you are supposed to do about her.

Hi Mini, I understand that you might be feeling frustrated, but please keep in mind that this is the second version of the game. I believe you might be feeling this way because there are only two areas, the Forest and the Deep Forest, which are respectively the starting area (where are the weakest enemies in the game) and the final area (strongest enemies in the game). As development progresses, you will notice that gameplay will be much more smoother and balanced. Also, you've been following the development of Hero Corruption for some time now (thank you very much for that), you might have noticed that whenever new mechanics and new enemies are implemented, they're pulled towards the hard side and after a few tweaks their difficulty is adjusted. But here are some considerations: I don't think Megan and Claire are comparable, while Megan deals more damage, Claire have more than 3x Megan's HP and her attacks are much more frequent. Megan is supposed to be a common enemy that punish builds without VIT. But maybe 30 is indeed too much. I'll look into that. Samantha's Anal Check starts at 1 and goes up every turn, if your hero has the new Trait "Ass Worshiper", the check is lowered by 5, this keeps it at 0 for around 5 turns. Yes, receiving the new trait is basically a game over, this will be adjusted for sure. To be honest, I feel the stats are pretty reasonable, I believe you're feeling that way because maybe the exp gain isn't ideal, I'm already working to adjust that too. I really appreciate your honest feedback, it helps me keep my feet on the ground.

Samantha increases your addiction every turn so the check crawling up by 1 makes it extremely unlikely to escape quickly. Especially since the negative trait will usually proc by the second turn or so, meaning you often accrue 7 turns or so of addiction before you even have a tiny chance of escaping. Also you don't lose when Claire puts you to 0 HP but you do lose the battle if Megan puts you to 0. Which means her timer is a lot tighter.

No problems in beating any of the characters once prepared. You just need to think how to beat them. Just try out different things there's pretty much easy mode once you realise what you can do and how stats work and take some time to prepare. It's good that the game doesnt give itself away instantly.

On Olivia, when she asks you to masturbate, the resistance check shows as shemale and if you resist it rolls shemale, but if you give in and masturbate once, the resistance check shows as shemale, but when you roll its anal happens after masturbating once or 3x (didn't try 2x or 4x)

I cannot find how to toggle the difficulty in Android version. After the tutorial, I make new run. It just asks to put the hero name, use the fame tree, and use the point. After that, it starts the run in normal mode.

Hey Dara, you cannot change the difficulty if you already have a save file. To change the difficulty in mobile you have to clean the app data and start over, this is also true for the other versions. Difficulty cannot be changed between runs. Keep in mind that Easy mode disable achievements and hardmode is only there for the increased challenge… For now.

The apk file keeps turning into a .zip file leaving me without a way to run the game on android, the old version works fine though

@CedricPeoples sent me a DM reporting the same thing was happening with him, but in v0.1. It seems that some browsers/phones are downloading the .apk as .zip due to the content-type not being set to .apk. I’ll update it

For now, you can rename the file from ".apk.zip" to ".apk" to change it manually to an .apk and it should run

With milovana still not playing ball, are we getting just a bigger hc2 release or are you still trying for hc1 behind the scenes?

Right now I'm 100% focused on HC2, I've noticed that it's not a good idea to keep trying to update HC1 while Milovana is unstable. Time spent trying to work around site issues is not worth the amount of content that could be added, while in HC2 I have full control over the engine, publishing, etc. As soon as Milovana is back to normal I will resume work on HC1, which shouldn't take long, as yesterday the site seemed to be more fluid. But until then, the HC2 patches will indeed be bigger: If Milovana doesn't come back this month, I'm targeting 4 new girls for the next version of HC2, along with the new usual stuff.
