Hi David, thanks very much for your very detailed and reasoned response to my question ref Ajax development problems, let's hope that at some point HMG>MoD recognises their failings in terms of project management and implements systems that give us better value for money and more timely equipment delivery. Do you think these Ajax delays have contributed to the longevity of the FV432/Bulldog in British service, I find it fascinating that this platform has been in service in various forms for over sixty years and counting, an amazing piece of kit. Take care David and Merry Christmas to you and the team at the Museum.

H David and Fin, Happy Chritmas to you both and Tank Museum team. UK used various engines in WW2 era tanks. We are told of the lack of large capacity engines available and that aero engines were adapted and used - Liberty and Meteor (based on Merlin). Were other considered or used such as RR Kestrel, Napier Lion or radial engines as used by USA?
