Hi Patrons,

I hope the weather is good where you are, and it's not been too hot! It's been a hot minute since my last update, but I have been taking part in Tanks in Action, and during the recent heat wave, it was no mean feat.

Throughout the summer holidays, the entire workshop is working flat out to run the display vehicles around our arena. Do let me know if you have been able to visit. I appreciate a wave so make so too if you see me driving a vehicle.

As you can probably expect, getting up to 5 vehicles a day ready and safe takes some time and care for an ever-ageing collection. From checking oil levels to checking running, gear is in good condition and fixing/noting faults that will inevitably occur. We meet this head-on, relishing the challenges these old girls throw at us!

I also have some updates on Churchill. I last discussed that the engine had been removed, which you could see from the last update picture, and it's currently on a stand with all four carburettors removed to sonic clean them.

We have also removed all four cylinder heads to inspect the valves/valve seats and have found more than we expected, the problem being the cylinder heads surface in poor condition due to the previous machining and are now unusable.

Luckily we are in a position where we have spares and are currently checking thickness, and for warp on four, we have received back from vapour blasting. Then the fuel feed/float bowl height and solve the fuel leaks.

Once again, thank you for your continued support,

With Regards,
Aaron

Keep at it, that Churchill will run like a dream when you've got her engine chugging away again! 😊
