Hi Patrons!

I mentioned last month that we have recently started the Centurion AVRE 105 refurbishment and will be fitting one one of our spare Meteor engines. This month I have rebuilt both of the Meteor carburettors as they were full of old, stale and solidified petrol, that was blocking them completely. I am pleased to say that the engine is now running on its test stand.

I have also fully stripped and rebuilt the Daimler Dingo carburettor after running issues this month. The carburettor was full of dirt and the air correction screw was loose. I made new gaskets for the carburettor and reassembled it. Now the Dingo runs smoothly

Another Meteor engine is in the process of being rebuilt, finally separating the head from the block. Our next step is to remove the cylinder liners as they are badly corroded and see if any are able to be reused.

During my last week at college, we looked at ignition timing on an MGB, learning about advancing and retarding ignition systems. Then we moved on to different exhaust systems and forced induction and the different types.

Thank you to everyone for your support.

James
