Wow, this month, I'd never had so many commissions coming at me from all angles, including a lucrative full painting of 9 fullbodies with a deadline of less than a week which I'm still working on right now... Phew! A lesson in time-management, patience with myself, and skill-building!

It's month end, so it's time to take a look at random musings, things that could've been, but never made the cut, things that have been improved, and things yet to come!

The Most Important Item!! New Tech!!

So. I finally did it! I finally splurged and got a new iPad pro 2021! It cost me an arm and a leg, but I think it's a fair investment!

I may or may not have pulled two consecutive all-nighters getting the software set up; Trying and buying apps, and migrating my convoluted mess of brushes, swatches, etc. to the new device. (This actually resulted in me completely having to learn new software and create my brushes from scratch on said new software, but I feel like I learned a lot whilst doing this!)

I was so excited I had already publicly announced this, but could not have done this without my supporters, patrons, and commissioners! So a big thank-you to everybody for your continued support!

Comic Page Sketches

It's pretty obvious that comic pages take forever to create, especially with care and attention to detail, and even more so when it's a commission... but did you know my comic commissions have sketch variations? After being provided the script, I make a few sausage people sketches, and send them off for review. Then the mix-and-match nature of it leaves the preferred panels to be fleshed out, and the others to be discarded. Here is a look at some variations, most of which never made it to the final cut:

Reference Binder

I also took advantage of the abundance of school supplies and got myself a binder! This binder is going to be my reference binder! I don't have many pages yet, but I have been slowly filling it with self-created references, scans of useful books, artwork I would like to steal from, and other things!

The cover art is by TIV, the artist for one of my favourite manga series. I hope to one day be as skilled and successful ;)

Next Month:

Next month is the long-awaited Inktober/TG-tober event! I expect a ton of improvement then ;) Be on the lookout for daily art!
