There's a western visual novel named Katawa Shoujo, one of the characters has a very similar look and burn scars. It's a good look and cute appeal though.

Katawa shoujo was based off a page from a Japanese artist's doujinshi, so don't worry. There's no copyright or anything. It's a cute character design and there is nothing new under the sun.
