Drawing Room: FIGURE/S: drawing after Bellmer (Patreon)

Hi patrons! I want to share some early studies for an upcoming group show at the Drawing Room, London, titled FIGURE/S: drawing after Bellmer: https://drawingroom.org.uk/exhibitions/figure-s-drawing-after-bellmer. 

Synopsis (draft):

A series of watercolours exploring bestiality and interspecies love. A honey-covered hand swarms with ants; a female figure orally feeds a nestling, mimicking its mother; a cat and a human are entwined in embrace. Simnett’s bodies are fluid and entangled, the watercolour literally bleeding the forms together. In response to the fragmented, trussed up bodies depicted by Bellmer, Simnett emphasises unity and mutual care.
