Welcome back guys. Hope all is well again. I missed you!

Episode 8 is the first half season finale but season 5 should be seen as one season as much of the stories set up in episodes 1-8 are explored and answered in episodes 9-16. This season is a huge rollercoaster- you ain't seen nothing yet! I can't wait for you to see it all and react. It was great to listen to your discussion and predictions and mostly your laughter! Next episode is a real cheeky fun one with so much going on that you will have to talk about...looking forward to next week already!

Welcome back, I was really looking forward to your reaction to this episode. This one and the next are my favorites of 5a, though 5b is even better in my opinion. Amenadiel is definitely the brainy one while Lucifer is the emotional one of the two brothers. One could argue it's easier to master ideas than it is to master emotions, which explain why Lucifer's character development is more like a rollercoaster white Amenadiel's is "steady Eddy". Some of the questions you raised will definitely be answered in future episodes this season: will God make an appearance, when, and why; how the situation with Linda and her daughter be resolved; what's the reach of Michael's influence on God and/or his siblings; will Maze get closure and how. The question about why Hell doesn't need a warden any more will be addressed but not answered until late season 6. Anyhow, put on your seat belts, you're in for a ride. PS: Amenadiel really looked like a badass in that scene in the cellar, arguably more than Lucifer, but hold that thought until the very last episode of the series, see if you still think the same way ;)

Your time “off” was well deserved and I am so happy you are doing better, but your absence created quite a void for me these last 2 weeks! I follow many reactors on Patreon for Lucifer only, and I love you guys are the best overall with your enthusiasm for the show. You pay attention to the characters, and don’t talk over the dialogue (97% of the time!) which is a pet peeve of mine when the reactors speculate why something is happening and ask questions which were clear from a previous exchange. That was the case here for you re Linda and Maze, but I know you will rewatch before next week, which I don’t think a lot of the other channels take the time to do. Sorry that this is already so long and I wanted to comment on some of your discussion about Chloe and her effect on Lucifer. No spoilers, but info from gained from earlier episodes and behind the scenes interviews up to this point. Chloe’s “gift” and Lucifer’s physical vulnerability are 2 completely different issues. God created Chloe as a person to be immune to Lucifer’s aura . The writers and show runners have stated that God’s gift to Lucifer was someone who would see and know HIM, whether the 2 would be just colleagues, friends or lovers. How their relationship developed was between them as with any other 2 individuals with no further interference from God. It was not until Lucifer started getting close to Chloe that his vulnerability manifested. He didn’t/doesn’t quite understand emotions and his subconscious self-actualized his mortality as a way to show his vulnerability.
