Let's talk about the situation as it stands. From the first scene, we learn that Willie Tybur and Magath expected an attack. What Willie did was purposefully surround himself with Eldian civilians as meat shields that he could use as propaganda when they're caught in the crossfire. Willie purposefully chose to make the Eldians collateral damage along with the military leaders he didn't want. He set them all up to be killed. This attack would then be spun to garner support for a worldwide assault on Paradis. We can talk about whether Eren had another way or not but Willie purposefully made himself, the entire top brass of the Marleyan military easy targets and then declared war, knowing those people would likely respond and wouldn't pass up an opportunity to do that much damage to Marley leadership. It's like they knew of an upcoming terrorist attack aimed at a politician and purposefully brought that politician into Minority neighborhoods as an easy target. It's pretty fucked up. So, considering everything we know, what's the right military strategy? What should be the Paradis response to Marley uniting a global alliance to attack their island? Should they take the opportunity to take out most of the Marley military leadership when it comes up? Is there any way they could come to a mutual diplomatic agreement with Marley? What's the best thing to do? Is it also the right thing to do?
