Things are going to change around here... (Patreon)

I started Patreon in October 2014 when I moved to London basically on a whim, had no idea what I was doing and just threw myself straight into this YouTube thing. Your support has meant everything to me over the last 2 years and it came at a time when I really needed it. But my situation has changed and so I think some things should change around here too.

I've been doing a lot of thinking recently about Patreon, how I use it, listening to feedback from your experiences and because it's that time of year evaluating my general work game plan. 

I have decided to remove the tiers/rewards on my Patreon page. I am not deleting my Patreon. I will still use it but just in a very different way. There will only be one tier which is the $1+ per month and you can donate however much you like. I don't care how much, I'd just be grateful that you decided to stick around :) 

For me Patreon came at a time when the financial support was crucial to me. I'd just moved to London, I had a part time job and I was relentlessly working on my YouTube channel. I didn't have enough guaranteed streams of income to be able to survive in London and focus my energies on creating videos and that was where Patreon came in. 

But two years later and my hard work has paid off. I am financially stable, I have started my own company, I have a book deal etc. I'm doing fine. (Although we all know how fickle YouTube and the entertainment industry is so who knows this could all go to shit tomorrow!) So although I love Patreon I feel guilty taking your money. 

The other reason that I'm doing this is because I don't feel like I have the time or energy to follow through with the rewards and make them the best possible and totally worth your support and money. I'm sorry about that. 

I don't know how Patreon works so when I delete the different tiers check your account to make sure you're not still giving me that money each month and if you decide to stick around change your donation to $1 per month.

Here's what you can expect for $1 per month

• Early uploads - where possible I will post my videos to Patreon a day early so you can watch it before everyone else.
• Access to my Patreon only feed - updates, announcements, general chat
• Access to Patreon direct messages
• The occasional adhoc bloopers video (i.e. there's usually loads of bloopers from drunk advice so I could share those with you)
• Any other random things I think of 

Thank you, thank you so much for your continued support and I hope I've managed to communicate this well but in case I didn't I want you to know that I do appreciate you so so much!
