Content

Hello!

As you may know, I am no one-woman-content-creating-machine-band, I have help. I work with various part time freelancers and contractors on lots of different parts of content creation and my business but the two people I work most closely with are my creative producer and creative assistant.

You may be familiar with Moog as she's worked with me for almost 2 years and has featured on Doing It Podcast and done newsletter takeovers. And then Mia joined the team in January this year.

A few folks in the discord server suggested that it would be nice to do a "meet my team" post on Patreon so you could get to know the people I work with and who help make everything happen! And being able to work with incredible people like Moog and Mia is made possible by YOU, the Patrons. Thank you 💛

Moog

Hi Patrons! I'm Moog, and I'm Hannah's Creative Assistant. I've been working with Hannah since March 2020 and our interview was the last thing I did in person with anyone before lockdown hit! I interviewed on a Friday and got the job + lockdown was announced on the following Monday, so despite working with Hannah for like two years and living in the same city, I've met her in person... twice 😂

I do a lot of the nitty gritty bits behind the scenes: the shownotes and transcripts for Doing It as well as run the Doing It socials, the backstage data part for both Hannah's YouTube channels; general email admin; analytics reports for YouTube and the Doing It socials; sending out the newsletter; and anything else that comes up as we go! I really love this job - I get to use my nerd brain for statistics, and I've been a sex nerd since, like, primary school when I was the one asking for period books from the Scholastic catalogue and telling my friends cool body facts that I'd learned. (Shout out to 11 year old me showing all my friends the Twin Peaks book to see if any of them ALSO knew what a clitoris was, or if it was just me.) Plus I have a chronic illness (M.E.), so being able to reach people like younger me or even current me with understandable (and queer inclusive!) sex ed and disability content so they know they're not all by themselves is basically the dream.

If you're a regular Doing It listener you'll be familiar with my voice too - Hannah and I did the Agony Aunt minisodes together last summer, and I was a guest on my own episode to talk more about growing up with M.E. and having a relapse as an adult, dating with a chronic illness, and how I blithely escaped comp het as a kid by... assuming everyone liked girls best and just told everyone they liked boys instead 😂

I live just outside London with my wife and our two cats (one I'm sure is a cryptid; one has one eye and the same number of brain cells, who put her tail in my cup of tea while I was writing this), and I'm currently on my billionth Stardew Valley replay and waiting very impatiently for news about the next season of Wheel of Time! (Also I'm on Instagram @moogflorin for all your cosy book nerd body appreciation journey needs!)

Hi Patrons I’m Mia,

I am Hannah’s new Creative Producer. Hannah and I *found* each-other at the end of 2021, I say found because she was looking for someone with a very niche combined skill set of having creative, production skills and a deep knowledge and interest of all things sex. Whilst I was out there looking for somewhere I could combine my years of experience of film and content creation with my great interest and burgeoning knowledge of sex and relationships, and then one fateful December day on the internet (of course), we found each other!

I started working with Hannah at the beginning of January of this year and it’s been brilliant. Before I get into what I do with Hannah, I’ll tell you a bit more about myself and what led me here. I am a documentary maker and music journalist by background and continue this alongside working with Hannah. I’ve been lucky to travel the world making films and capturing people’s stories everywhere from India to Ghana to Berlin to Morocco. I love telling stories through film and music and supporting people, their culture and their missions through creativity. If you are interested to see some of my films you can check them out here and you can listen to some of my radio shows here!

I have long especially had an interest in identity, sexuality, gender, race, relationships and sex and my film work has heavily focused on these themes, however, last year I also decided I wanted to become a sex and relationship Psychotherapist. I have thought for a while I would one day train as a therapist due to my great regard and personal benefit from the discipline. However, I absolutely love talking about all things to do with sex, sexuality and relationships, so after realising those are always the things I want to learn and talk about, I decided I wanted to specifically train in sex and relationship therapy, which is exactly what I am doing! I am studying part time for a diploma in pluralistic sex and relationship therapy and I have to say it is an incredibly intense and indescribable journey, it is a unique experience of extreme personal growth and learning about yourself and everybody else, but I am so excited to dive further into this passion and get to work with people through this discipline. If you want to hear more about this, I was recently a guest on my friend, Florence Bark, from Come Curious’ podcast Love High where she talked to me all about my journey so far training to be a sex and relationship therapist and some thoughts and things I’ve learnt about love (episode out 11th April!)

Last year I found myself seeking a new chapter, more intellectual stimulation and a greater sense of work satisfaction, after starting my studies I knew I wanted to try to combine everything and become a creative part of the world of sex education. Which is what led me here. What I love about working with Hannah, is I am getting to bring all my many interests and skills together, drawing on my experience of production, telling stories, getting to the heart of important themes, but also my love for education, nerding out about sex, empowering people with knowledge about sex and relationships, platforming and creating visibility of other people doing great things and having lots of fun whilst doing it!

In my role as Creative Producer I am overseeing all the production across Hannah’s two YouTube channels and the podcast show Doing It! This means I get to research brilliant guests and think of subjects to dive into for the podcast, I absolutely love spending time researching each person and thinking of questions to ask them. Each guest is so different, so I have been getting to expand my knowledge and own personal thoughts on so many different topics and I honestly love that. Along with Hannah I think of video ideas, oversee the script writing and development of video projects and will be spending her mat leave writing scripts myself, so I’m looking forward to getting to dive into the topics as well as overseeing a team of script writers we have working on new videos. I work in the studio with Hannah each week to film the videos and also oversee the editing of the videos and podcast alongside our lovely team of editors. In general I also spend time thinking of new ideas for the platform and how to improve, expand and reach more people with the work we do! I’ll be holding down the fort whilst Hannah is away and I’m really looking forward to having lots of brilliant new guests and ideas in place and getting to record great new content for you all when Hannah returns :)

I think Hannah has created an amazing platform and I admire her work so much. I feel really grateful to have become a part of her team and to get to work together with her and everyone else to make fascinating, impactful and fun content that helps people of all walks of life as they continue to learn more about themselves, sex, identity and relationships.

I live in North London with my jungle of plants, I spend my spare time digging for music, practicing yoga, going out dancing, reading, playing football, cooking vegan feasts, hiking, playing with my niblings and frolicking in nature. You can find me on insta here and if you ever see me out and about do say hi!

Love, Mia x
