*update post* Currency Changes £$€ (Patreon)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share some good news! I’m now able to change my creator balance and payout currency to my local currency of British Pounds (£) as part of the beta program Patreon are running. This means I’m subject to less conversion fees when I get paid each month (currently I'm paid in dollars $).

This hasn't happened yet, this is just a post to give you a heads up! You don't need to do anything right now, I'll do another post after I've changed the currency (sometime next week) but here's what it means for Patrons and I will repeat all this in my post when the change happens.

When I change my creator payout currency...

For Patrons in the UK: 

To avoid any additional conversion fees for the both of us, I suggest that those of you in UK also change to your local currency. For those of you who would like to switch your currency you can follow these steps:

1. On Patreon.com, hover over your avatar in the top right of your screen.
2. Click Manage memberships.
3. Find this page, and click Edit.
4. Under Currency, choose your preferred currency.
5. Click Update to save your settings.

Nothing will change for those of you outside of the UK.

I'll still  be charged conversion fees on your payments, however, you can avoid paying conversion fees yourself by changing your pledge to your local currency (US folks, this doesn't apply to you as you're already paying in $, but those in Europe you might want to change to €).

When I change my payout currency I'll also need to edit the tier prices. Patreon have created currency conversion tables that they're using (I believe they change every 6 months) and I've used this to establish the new tier prices. Article where they're from here.

So the new tier prices will be:

£3, £4.50 and £8.50 - doing it this way will hopefully mean your pledge doesn't change too drastically once the currency changes are made. 

*I think* that if you don't do anything (which you don't have to) then you will just continue paying what you're paying. This table below is more for new Patrons and what they'll see when they sign up. But if you do change your local currency to € then this is what that'll look like:
