After not waking from sleep a few times, my main workhorse for 16 years, the Mac Pro 2008 will chime but not boot. I'll figure it out, but I realize that I need to get an emergency back-up in place.

The closest I have is a 2006 Mac Pro. In the G5 video, I touch on the first round of Mac Pros with their Quad Core Xeons at 2.0, 2.66 and 3.0GHz, saying, "I never see 2Ghz! Did anyone actually buy one?", then I realize mine is a 2GHz. (wah, wah)

I looked online. Well, someone is selling 9 for $1100. I don't need 9 really.

I will keep you all updated on this situation.

Hang in there! :\ My 2010 Mac Pro developed "need to be rapidly powered up twice in a row to boot" power supply syndrome about five years in, and the Radeon 5770 went kaput in its ninth year. ($400 for a new PSU from eBay that's just going to do the same thing? No thanks...)

Hope you're back up and running already! Or soon! Story time: I bought a used 2.0 MacPro 1,1 back around 2009-10-ish. With all the internal drive bays, it was an affordable video-server that let us direct-edit video files over ethernet! At our peak, we had about a dozen 1,1 and 3,1's lining the bottom shelf of several PAX units (with cooling fans cut in, of course)

Another 2.0GHz Mac Pro! Definitely can scratch my baseless observation that no one bought them. Very cool editing set-up, thanks for sharing that!
