Arthur Fields

People were expecting Arya to get married and be a lady. She said no, that's not me. Arya wanted Nymeria to be her pet again, but Nymeria now has her own family / pack to protect. Arya realizes that and says 'that's not you'. I agree the scene probably wasn't necessary; no one was asking whatever happened to Nymeria in the same way they keep wondering what's become of Gendry, and Uncle Benjen. But it was nice to see what Nymeria has been up to. Also, it was a very short scene. It didn't last as long as that pointless scene with Jaime and Tyrion in his prison cell talking about that guy crushing beetles.

This scene is mostly an Easter egg for the book readers. In the books, there are rumors that pop up occasionally about a mysterious giant wolf (Nymeria) leading a pack in the northern forests, and we get updates on her progress through these rumor. For times sake they've been left out of the show completely up to this point, but they added this short scene to fill in that gap (as at this point, all other wolves have died except Ghost, who we see off and on). It's to try to cap off the storyline that started the first season of each of the Stark children receiving their own pups. When it was airing live, yes people were asking about Nymeria and her pack for seasons at this point. "That's not you" harkens back to Arya's "that's not me/I'm not meant to be a lady" theme. It is meant to remind you of that specific conversation she had with Ned
